Mayor & Council Seek Feedback From Residents About Neglected Properties
Recently some Township residents have complained to Township officials about vacant properties in their neighborhoods that have been neglected. Lawns have not been cut for months, and trash has accumulated. The extreme lack of upkeep detracts from the character of our residential neighborhoods.
As a result of the concerns that have been expressed, the Mayor and Council are considering the possibility of establishing (by ordinance) limited requirements for the upkeep of vacant properties. One suggestion that has been made is to require front lawns of vacant properties to be trimmed to a height no greater than ten (10”) inches.
The Mayor and Council seek the feedback of Clinton Township residents on this topic. Please let us know how you feel by writing to us or attending a Council meeting. We look forward to hearing from you. Email the Clerk at dburham@clintontwpnj.com.
Thank you!
